Thanks, guys, although I've been looking at it at thinking it comes off as too cerebral.

The tagline is a lucky coincidence. It's grown with my blog - I have updated it semi-regularly as I looked back over the subjects I had chosen to write about. When I changed the name, I elected to preface the tagline with an editorial comment about the futility of my efforts. Then I noticed that all the listed subjects - trying to learn Linux, trying to be secure, trying to combat corrosion, and the rest - were processes that naturally tend toward falling apart. So I guess the name choice is a good summary.

What really makes it for me is the description below Quixotic Extropicist. Not many people can get Quixotic Extropicist, Linux, cancer, and corrosion in one screenshot and actually make it work.

I absolutely love it! I know, I actually counseled you to keep the skull and crossbones, but I admit, they were right and I was wrong. The new name is unique, thought proviking, and appropriate - very much so for those that know you well. And it's kind of catchy. The logo is perfect for the name. And I agree, it would make an excellent tatoo.
