Just pulled your comments up today to look into this license issure. I'm 36, went to Rite Aid (in Michigan, my home) to purchase a pack of smokes, and low and behold, I was swiped too! Just as you stated, at first I was like "Are you kidding me?" when the clerk asked for my I.D., then she immediately ran it through the machine. I was completely pissed. I'm looking into this further, this needs to stop.

I was amused that I was not the only one to do this, I created a jpg with this message:

It Strikes me as bad marketing to blur
guest book names. You might have
conned a membership out of me had
     you not done that

Oddly enough, no long lost classmates bothered to email me at my displayed public email address. However, since updating the photo constituted activity, I received a new "someone signed your guest-book" notice at that public email address today.
While I suspected as much of the site, it is nice to see that I am neither the only one who had these suspicions or the only one to figure out the "jpg image = email address answer".
Thanks to Keith for the link further validating my suspicions.

Assuming you have a CPanel for your Web site, you should have Hotlink Protection within it. I can't stop people from grabbing image files from my site and using them on their own sites without my permission (and without crediting me or, as I always 'require', linking to my site), but the Hotlink Protection at least stops folks from stealing my bandwidth.

I was the original owner of SDC or San Diego Connection. A lot has happened to me since then. I sold my share of the bbs in 1995 as my partners did not think the internet was worth the investment (they said it was a fad). I moved back to Conn in 2000 as mom was ill. She passed and I am now living in Tucson, Az. I have been a computer tech for Dell as an independant contractor for over 3 yrs. I have been doing general pc tech work for over 24. I would love to say hello to any of "my gang". I remember sin she was Deb's friend or relative.Sorry to hear about Twin Peaks. She did host some very good parties. I remember you Mate as well. Anyhoo, I still keep in touch with Diane 39 one of the original charter members. I also keep in touch with Gregg (he was in the navy at the time) I think he was Gregg 47 or 49 I can't remember now.
